Position:  Food Service Supervisor (Full Time)

Location: Women’s & Children’s Hospital

Work schedule: 2 week rotation: 1st week: Wed-Saturday   2nd week: Thur-Sat  12 hr shift each (11hr paid)

Salary: $44,900, 3 weeks vacation, RRSP matching plan, excellent healthcare benefits

Duties:

·         You will supervise a team of Food Service workers and be accountable for the day to day food service operations that may include food production, assembly of trays, delivery of prepared food and ware washing.
·         You will be responsible for interacting with acute care staff and other caregivers in the provision of safe and appropriate meals to be delivered to patients, and ensuring productivity and food cost targets are met.
·         Your responsibilities may include hiring, employee training and staff scheduling.
·         You will address and resolve labour relation issues.
·         You will conduct patient satisfaction surveys, customer service audits and patient tray audits.
·         The successful candidate will ensure the department has strict compliance of the Compass Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
·         You will ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in the food preparation and distribution process.

Required Qualifications:

·         Minimum of two years related experience in a hospital and/or fast paced restaurant environment.
·         Food and Nutrition Management Diploma from an approved Community College and/or university degree in Food Service and Nutrition
·         Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or be eligible for membership.
·         Experience dealing with labour relations issues in a unionized environment
·         Strong supervisory, leadership and coaching skills
·         Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
·         Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
·         Excellent customers and clients relationship skills
·         Proficiency in Microsoft office is required

Assets:

·         Knowledge of CBord food service management system is an asset
