The Food Services & Hospitality Manager is responsible for the operational and technical leadership of food services at all sites, providing the technical and professional leadership necessary to implement a full resident nutritional plan for all sites. The Food Services Supervisor will ensure all residents and guests are provided with outstanding service and creative menus that meet and exceed expectations.
WORK PERFORMED
- Reviewing and approving prepared menus for assisted and retirement residence facilities with a focus on meeting or exceeding nutritional requirements at a high level of quality with a focus on reducing overall cost
- Supporting dietitian with the bi-annual detailed menu development for complex care sites
- Conducting monthly food service audits at all sites to confirm food is correct, nutritional, texture, and other standards are met and presented properly, and the right utensils are available
- Monitoring and tests textured food to ensure IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative) standards are met
- Leading weekly meetings with kitchen staff and support staff to establish food preparation agenda for each week
- Ensuring site required reporting has been recorded appropriately and that all sites are adhering to food safety plan
- Ensuring all sites compliance with all health & safety regulations and participates in all Health and Licensing inspections at site
- Reviewing regularly kitchen food safety & other occupational health and safety incidents occurring in the food services department and site kitchen departments
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a post-secondary diploma in Food & Beverage Management from a recognized institution
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in a volume food preparation environment in a retirement/LTC residence/healthcare or hospitality industry
- Member in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or a member of the College of Dietitians of Canada
