WORK PERFORMED
- Participate as a member of the Broadmead Care Leadership Team
- Conduct a variety of audits and work with management/staff on corrective action and quality improvement plans
- Observe and evaluate current Food Services practices
- Supervise all aspects of food production and delivery, including meal presentation
- Follow policies, procedures, and collective agreements that impact staff and the operation of the department
- Train, supervise, educate and lead by example
- Monitor relevant equipment functioning and arrange for maintenance and repairs
- Participate in new menu development, ongoing menu adjustment decisions and product testing
- Actively contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives
- Interact with local Public Health Unit as applicable
- Maintain compliance with industry, company, and legislative standards
- Ensure all audits, reports and documents are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Commit to supporting the Purpose, Vision and Values of Broadmead Care
- Foster and maintain effective relationships with peers, managers, staff and residents, families and volunteers
- Ensures safety procedures are in place in accordance with standards and legislation
- Orders and maintains control of stock
- Ensures that food safety is treated as a priority in all department activities
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of FoodSafe Level 2 is mandatory. Membership in CSNM is preferable. A minimum three (3) years supervisory experience in Food Services operations. Effective communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated leadership and team development skills, analytical, problem solving and decision-making ability. Initiative, reliability, tact and sound judgment in dealing with a variety of people, resident focused; ability to work in a changing, high production environment and to meet deadlines, competent with computer systems. Excellent knowledge of food production, menu development and overall food service operations. Requires a high level of organizational skill to meet critical deadlines.
