JOB SUMMARY

Position: Guest Experience Representative III - Food Operations Lead

Salary range: $19.93 - $26.32 an hour

WORK PERFORMED
  • Responsible for the execution of the food operations
  • Adherence to Alberta Health Services standards around food safety
  • Standardizing food assembly operations for efficient preparation of a standardized, repeatable offering
  • Responsible for proactively managing food inventories and ensuring orders are placed and received
  • Responsible for kitchen sanitization and cleanliness of overall kitchen area
  • Support staff training, scheduling, and assigning daily tasks to the Guest Experience Representatives for Food Operations
  • Supports the supervisory role of the Guest Experience Representatives II’s and I’s assigned to the Food Operations team
  • Demonstrates superior customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations and complaints to ensure excellence in customer care
  • Advises the Guest Experience Representative Coordinator of personnel issues
  • Advises the Guest Experience Representative Coordinator of any unresolved issues with guests or inventory
  • Evaluates to redirect or respond to requests, inquiries, and complaints via email inbox and phone lines.
  • Supports the accounting and financial processes associated with the Food Operations
  • Ensures adherence to UofA, Facility and Operations, and Botanic Garden Policies and Procedures
  • Ensures compliance with Facility and Operations Health and Safety Policy
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years experience in the food service industry (back of house)
  • Food Safety certification
  • Exceptional culinary skills and baking skills
  • Knowledge of various dietary restrictions and diverse cultural menu
  • An understanding and appreciation of local, fresh ingredients and suppliers
  • Proper knowledge of kitchen equipment and maintenance
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management
  • Flexible schedule required, including evenings and weekends
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is an asset—the garden is not accessible by public transportation
  • Knowledge of Google Business Suite
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 lbs
  • First aid and CPR are an asset
