 Date: Thursday, April 20, 2023

Time: 12:00 - 13:00 pm ET

"Network like a Pro: How to Build and Sustain Connections"
by Mirey Karavetian, PhD (Toronto Metropolitan University)

Networking virtually or in person can be intimidating, particularly for trainees. Whether you’re attending your first conference, trying to develop your career, increase the visibility of your research, or foster a new collaboration, making and sustaining impactful connections are important. This interactive presentation will discuss strategies to navigate both virtual and face-to-face networking situations so that the next time you step into a room of potential connections, you will feel ready to connect and converse.
For those attending the 2023 CNS Annual Conference in Quebec City, there will be an opportunity to practice these skills at the Trainee Networking Social on May 4th at 6 pm EST.
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:
1.    Distinguish the mindset behind successful networking, along with an understanding of human behavior related to networking
2.    Identify how to apply practical strategies to real-world scenarios
3.    Apply an action plan to grow your network
