WORK PERFORMED
  • Is present during meal services, trains, coaches and supervises staff, ensuring a full staff complement is present in Food Services and assists serving food items as needed
  • Follows proper food handling procedures including maintaining foods in a temperature safety zone and weekly calibration of thermometers and ensures dining rooms are set up properly
  • Displays polite, efficient and spirit-of-service attitude towards residents, families and co-workers
  • Assists with updating daily diet sheets, communicating diet changes to food services staff and ensures special diets are being followed
  • Identifies maintenance needs and submits work orders as appropriate

  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in and a clear understanding of safe food handling and sanitation practices; including Food Safe Certification
  • Experienced with training, supervising and coaching front line staff to be their best
  • Must be flexible and a self-starter who is able to manage conflict and is a collaborative decision maker
  • Excellent English language skills both orally and in writing
